NIH Community Sign-on Letter
A broad coalition of patient advocacy organizations, scientific societies, and research stakeholders is urging Congress to protect the National Institutes of Health (NIH), strengthen oversight of recent policy changes, and ensure the stability of the nation’s biomedical research enterprise. The groups warn that funding uncertainties, grant delays, staffing shortages, and proposed federal policy changes are disrupting research, threatening scientific progress, and undermining the biomedical workforce at institutions across the country.
FY27 Vision Research Funding Letter
Alliance for Vision Research led a FY27 organizational sign-on letter to Congressional appropriations leaders urging strong federal support for the NEI, preservation of NEI independence, and sustained investment in vision research.
The letter also calls on Congress to reject harmful policy proposals impacting NIH funding stability, including universal forward funding and arbitrary indirect cost caps.
