The Alliance for Eye and Vision Research (AEVR) Hosts Two Important Events Held September 20 in Conjunction with the Ninth Annual Emerging Vision Scientists Day on Capitol Hill

Congressional Briefing:  Advancements in Macular Degeneration: New and Upcoming Therapies
The briefing will feature Neena Haider, PhD (Harvard Medical School) who will discuss the latest in the diagnosis and treatment of Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), as well as Patient Advocates who will discuss living with this blinding eye disease.

Emerging Vision Scientists Reception
The reception showcases the work of 31 early-stage vision scientists from across the United States who will display posters and discuss their breakthrough research to save sight and restore vision. The event, made possible by a grant from Research to Prevent Blindness, focuses on answering the question, “How will this research delay or prevent the $717 billion annual cost of eye disease and vision impairment projected by year 2050?”.
